Massa Receives Phase 1 SBIR Award from Navy Massa Products Corporation received an SBIR ( Small Business Innovation Research) award from NUWC (Naval Underwater Warfare Center) for the Phase 1 Development of a “Low Cost Hydrophone for Thin Line Towed Arrays”. Phase 1 is scheduled for a 6 month effort and will be completed in Q1 of 2012. Massa has been awarded over 570 government contracts in its 65 year history.
Massa Products Corporation is one of the most experienced companies in the world in the design and mass production of a wide variety of different sonar transducers and arrays. For over six decades, Massa has successfully performed on over 570 sonar development and production contracts, with over 75 contracts having been received in the last five years. Many of these contracts required advancing the state of the art in sonar technology, and virtually all were delivered on or ahead of schedule.
Many of our recent contracts have been to produce transducers for the sonar systems currently used on U.S. Submarines. Massa has aslo received contracts for MK-30 MOD 1 and MK-30 MOD 2 Towed Arrays.

The LAB Array replaces the spherical array on Virginia Class Submarines
for shipsets 11 and higher. It contains a DT-574 Passive Array for receiving and a TR-353 Active Array for transmitting.
